- For each state we took the 25th and 75th percentile of observed independent hourly rates from the quote pool.
- Dealership rates were derived from capped-price service schedules divided by manufacturer-stated labour hours, cross-checked against invoice data.
- 2024 and 2025 averages were back-cast using MTAA wage-index data and ABS CPI for automotive services.
- All figures are inclusive of GST and rounded to the nearest $5. They exclude diagnostic fees, fluids, and parts.
