Where Our Data Comes From
Our estimates are built from a structured dataset of 672 cost estimates across 30 car brands and 24 repair types, compiled between June and August 2026. Baseline pricing is grounded in published Australian workshop quotes and dealer service schedules, then adjusted using brand-level cost factors (European parts premiums, budget-brand discounts) and state-specific labour rates.
We built this tool after struggling to find transparent, realistic repair pricing for the Australian market. Most online resources either show US pricing or vague ranges that don't reflect what Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane workshops actually charge. Our state-by-state labour rate data (NSW $120/hr, VIC $115/hr, QLD $110/hr and more) means estimates reflect your local market, not a national average.
